Books speak for themselves, or do they? As the author of fiction and nonfiction across multiple genres, you would think each one says something different (and they do), but they have one thing in common.

Each work supports my belief that we must leave the comfort of what we call “home” in order to gain independence and build a home truly our own. That is true whether you’re turning 40 in Paris, starting a new country, baking bread for a corner restaurant, or navigating down the Mississippi in 1783.
